Multicultural Festival of Colours this Weekend

festcolours2014The Multicultural Festival of Colours is a free public celebration for all ages happening this weekend. Come celebrate our region’s culturally diverse communities from a current and historic perspective featuring cultural performances, traditional arts demonstrations and a broad range of Exhibitors and Vendors.

The Multicultural Festival of Colours is a three day FREE public celebration of cultural expression, equality and human rights that starts Friday September 4th and continues through Saturday and Sunday on the first floor of the Diamond Jubilee Cruise Terminal at 333 Water Street. Attendees will be engaged, enriched and educated by a diversity of sights, sounds and experiences to please all ages. Everyone is welcome!

Official Exhibitors include Canadian Forces, Canadian Union of Public Employees – NB Division, New Brunswick Aboriginal People’s Council Local 10 (Saint John), American Federation of Music Local 815, MXT Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Artist: Sheila Arsenault Howell, Saint John Pride, Multicultural Association of Saint John Inc., Artist: Mike Field, Giggleycraft, Artist: Laura Mazerolle / Gel Moments Consultant, and Scentsy Fragrance.

Henna Artist, Larissa Reinders will also be providing free in-house henna tattoos to attendees throughout the Multicultural Festival of Colours. This is an opportunity for everyone to experience and learn about a traditional art that dates back more than 5000 years to India and the Middle East and receive an all natural temporary henna tattoo.
