For the past 15 years, Dan has been active in the East Saint John school community. Dan is currently your District Education Councillor, a position he has held for the past 5 years. During his time on the DEC, Dan has worked to improve transparency of the governance process, ensured the concerns of local schools were represented and worked to improve public engagement. Prior to the DEC, Dan was on Simonds and Bayside Parent School Support Committees and gave back to the schools where possible, including building sets for both Bayside Middle and Simonds High drama productions. Dan has also been a member of the It Takes A Village Committee which has produced a speaker series over the past few years.
Dan is a native East Side resident, growing up in Champlain Heights, and graduated from Simonds High, class of 1985. Dan got his Engineering Degree from UNB, completing the first two years at UNBSJ. Dan started his professional career at NBTel, and is now employed at Mariner Partners, working from their office in Brunswick
