Safe Driving Study By Allstate, Finds NB Tops List

The ninth annual safe driving study has been released by Allstate Insurance Company of Canada,  and New Brunswick ranked as the safest province to drive in.

Allstate conducts the study each year, to generate discussion about what it means to be a safe driver.

They examine the collision date of customers in Alberta, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Ontario.

New Brunswick has a collision frequency rate of five per cent, which is a reduction of 6.5 per cent since the previous study.

They looked at 93 communities in those four provinces…and Riverview placed in 23rd, Rothesay in 35th, Saint John in 36th and Moncton in 59th.

The most common cause of loss is from collisions involving parked cars, followed by collisions caused by turning and intersections. In New Brunswick, the day of the year with the highest number of collisions over the past five years was February 17.
