Fredericton MP Matt DeCourcey was at the University of New Brunswick (UNB) last week for World Intellectual Property Day, to announce an investment of $500,000 for the Innovate@UNB pilot project led by the Office of Research Services (ORS). Forest-fire season began April 18th

Each year, the season begins on the third Monday of April and continues through until October 31st unless otherwise indicated. Anyone igniting a Category 1 fire (fires with a diameter of three metres or less) should ensure burning is allowed in that area. This can be done by calling the toll-free burn line at 1-866-458-8080 or by visiting the Department of Natural Resources’ website. Read more »

Reminder: Minimum Wage to Increase on April 1st

New Brunswickers are reminded that the minimum wage will increase from $10.30 per hour to $10.65 per hour on April 1st, 2016. This marks the second increase to the minimum wage in New Brunswick since December 2014. The provincial government plans to further increase the minimum wage to $11 per hour by 2017 and thereafter by the rate of inflation. Read more »
