Don Guimond, of Grand Bay- Westfield, was chosen the winner of the brewery’s first Canadian “Imagine & Gunn” competition with his Black IPA with Coconut and Rhubarb.

The beer will be sold as “Don’s Choice” across Canada next fall.

“For a craft beer lover, this is unbelievably exciting,” said Guimond, in a release. “Innis & Gunn produces some of the most flavourful beers I’ve ever tried. I’m still wrapping my head around the idea that their next flavour idea is mine.”

There were more than 1,000 submissions and Guimond’s flavour made a shortlist chosen by Dougal Gunn Sharp, Innis & Gunn’s founder and master brewer. The final decision was made by the Canadian public where “Don’s Choice” was selected over seven other finalists in a public vote.

In January, Guimond will travel to the Innis & Gunn Brewery in Scotland to brew his beer with Dougal and his brewing team
