Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada is thrilled to announce their second collaboration with Symphony New Brunswick! Following a successful collaboration last year with ICEMAN Atlantic Ballet is pleased to partner again with Symphony NB to present CARMEN — passion, seduction and revenge set to the iconic score of Bizet & Shchedrin. Igor Dobrovolskiy takes a contemporary slant on the famous tale of the Gypsy.
Don José falls in love with Carmen and sacrifices everything to be with her. When Carmen becomes infatuated with Escamillo, the toreador, she loses interest in Don José whose love quickly turns to violent jealousy. The story of Carmen is one of passion, drama, love, tragedy all combined in such a way that one’s heart feels as though it might stop at any moment from sheer anticipation.
The production comes to Saint John’s Imperial Theatre on Friday May 19th, 2017 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $40 for Adults and Seniors, $15 for Students, Youth and Children. Click here to purchase tickets online.
