Open Auditions for The War Bride
The Saint John Theatre Company (SJTC) will be hosting open auditions for the October Studio production of The War Bride. Production dates are October 14-17 at the BMO Studio Theatre as part of the SJTC in house Studio Series.
The War Bride is a play that is set in WWII and follows the story of Adele as she meets and develops relationships with a couple of Canadian (RCAF) friends, Norman and Roger. It spans the Atlantic, taking us on Adele’s journey from London to Dorset to New Brunswick.
Audition Dates:
August 12 – Wednesday (7:00 pm)
August 13 – Thursday (7:00 pm)
Auditions will be held at the Saint John Theatre Company, 112 Princess Street. Please note: those auditioning need only attend one of the above sessions. If callbacks are necessary, they will be on Sunday August 16th at 1 pm. If you cannot make one of the audition times, video submissions are welcome. Rehearsal period will be starting on August 24th.
Cast of Characters:
ADELE – the War Bride. She is in her 80’s now and her English accent has faded, though not completely.
YOUNG ADELE – In her early 20’s.
NORMAN – A young Canadian soldier.
ROGER – Also a young Canadian soldier and best friend of Norman.
