New Brunswick, you raised over $104,000
for the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s!
Thank you to everyone that participated in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s Online. The onset of COVID-19 has changed the way we gather together as a community and although we couldn’t physically walk together this year, we were still connected on May 31st as thousands of people walked across Canada in support of a world without Alzheimer’s disease.
Funds raised through the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s enable us to provide essential services to those living with dementia in our province. We want to tell you about a few of our incredible walkers, and tell you about some of the ways the funds they raised will have an impact in their community!
Toots Team – Saint John, NB
Gina, John and Margaret walked for their husband and father, Greydon aka “Toots.” Gina and John performed different exercises over seven days in various locations around Saint John and the Kennebecasis Valley Area. Together, they raised an incredible $7,375! This amount will cover approximately 10% of our annual contribution to research. Thank you, Team Toots, for your incredible efforts!
Barb Hatfield – Hanwell, NB
Barb and her husband Hal walk for her 7 family members that have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Barb walked every day for a week to honour them, and raised a total of $5,600! Barb’s fundraising efforts will enable us to support 35 clients in the Greater Fredericton area for the year. Thanks, Barb, and to all your sponsors!
Louise Hicks – Sackville, NB
Louise walks because she is a consultant with our national sponsor, IG Wealth Management, and because she has been personally affected by the disease. Thanks to her supporters, she raised a total of $225, which will enable us to host an outreach day in a rural community, like Sackville, so that people who wouldn’t ordinarily be able to come to our office can access information and support services. Thank you, Louise!
