<\/a>An international celebration of philanthropy is coming to the University of New Brunswick for the first time.<\/p>\n

Hosted by UNB\u2019s Alumni Annual Giving Program tomorrow\u00a0December 1st, GivingTuesday is a 24-hour fundraising effort celebrating how students\u2019 experience is bettered by scholarships and bursaries, library resources and other opportunities created by alumni support.<\/p>\n

GivingTuesday began in 2012 and is now celebrated in 68 countries, including Canada. Approximately 26,000 global partners, like UNB, are dedicating this day to appreciating and encouraging philanthropy that directly benefits their own institutions or causes.<\/p>\n

Occurring annually on the Tuesday after commercial campaigns such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday, it\u2019s a day that brings together individuals, companies and charities to support the causes that matter most to them.<\/p>\n
