New Roundabout Now Open At Sandy Point Road and Foster Thurston Drive
The wait is over! Drivers can now enjoy a smoother, safer commute with the grand opening of the brand-new roundabout at Sandy Point Road and Foster Thurston Drive. This milestone marks a significant investment in the city’s transportation infrastructure and reflects our commitment to building a safer, more connected community.
This modern intersection upgrade is designed to keep traffic moving efficiently while boosting safety for everyone on the road. As vehicles approach the roundabout, drivers must yield to traffic already circulating. Once inside, remember to signal when exiting and stay alert for pedestrians at the clearly marked crosswalks on both Sandy Point Road approaches.
The roundabout’s low-speed design encourages safer driving and reduces the risk of collisions. Motorists are urged to adjust their speed, stay focused, and embrace the flow of this new traffic pattern.
The City encourages all road users to familiarize themselves with the new features and follow posted signage and signals.
More light poles will be added in the spring to provide even better lighting in the area.
