23rd Annual Dickie Crossman Memorial Golf Tournament Raises $50,000 for P.R.O. Kids
The 23rd Annual Dickie Crossman Memorial Golf Tournament, held at Rockwood Park Golf Course, proudly raised $50,000 in support of P.R.O. Kids, reaffirming its role as a Premier Smile Sponsor and champion of youth opportunity. Over the past twenty-three years, this much-loved community event has contributed more than $500,000 to P.R.O. Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring all children have access to recreational, cultural, and developmental programs.
The tournament was established in memory of Richard “Dickie” Crossman, an avid athlete who passed away in 2002 at the age of 35 after a courageous battle with cancer. Known for his love of hockey, lacrosse, baseball, and ball hockey, Dickie’s legacy lives on through this annual event, which reflects his deep commitment to youth, sport, and community spirit. The foundation’s motto, “Heroes live forever,” continues to resonate with all who knew him.
This year’s tournament brought together 36 teams for a day of spirited competition, heartfelt remembrance, and unwavering dedication to empowering local youth.
“The Dickie Crossman Memorial Tournament is more than a fundraiser, it’s a celebration of community spirit and shared purpose,” said Hillary Pineau, Coordinator of P.R.O. Kids. “Thanks to the incredible support from our sponsors, golfers, and volunteers, we’re able to open doors for hundreds of children who might otherwise miss out on the joy and growth that come from participating in sports, arts, and recreation.”
The funds raised will directly support P.R.O. Kids’ mission to remove financial barriers for families, helping children build confidence, develop skills, and connect with their community through enriching activities.
P.R.O. Kids extends its deepest gratitude to all who contributed to the success of this year’s tournament. Your generosity continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of youth across the Greater Saint John Region.
