Based on the current weather forecast for tomorrow, January 14, the Saint John region is expected to receive anywhere from 15 to 30 cm of snow followed by warmer temperatures and rain, in addition to the snow from last week’s storm and the snowfall on Wednesday.
Public Works crews have continued to clear streets and sidewalks since the last storms and will once again be out with a full clearing effort when the next snowfall begins. City streets will be plowed based on a priority system, once the storm has ended.
Residents can help with snow clearing efforts by parking off-street where possible and following any parking restrictions that are announced. Clearing catch basins and drains around your property is also very helpful, especially when there is a combination of new snowfall and melting snow, which is forecasted for the coming days.
A reminder that it is very important to keep children away from snowbanks near the roads and sidewalks when plows or snow removal equipment are operating. Plows often have limited visibility and road conditions can make it difficult to stop quickly. Please take precautions to keep everyone safe.
