2021 Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign Update

Between December 16 and December 18, 2021, the Saint John Police Force along with Justice and Public Safety continued the Festive R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Campaign in Saint John. The total statistics over this period are as follows:

  • 3,011 vehicles through the checkpoints
  • 222 Alcohol Screening Tests
  • 4 P.O.P.A. (Provincial Offences Procedures Act) tickets were issued 
  • 4 Arrests (1 impaired, 2 refusals, and 1 FTA Warrant (Failure to Attend Court)
  • 2 Seven Day Suspensions
  • 5 Vehicles were towed with 3 impounded for 30 days

The Saint John Police Force would like to remind the public that the R.I.D.E. Campaign will continue throughout the month of December to reduce impaired driving, prevent injuries and educate motorists. If you suspect an impaired driver, please call 9-1-1.
