The City of Saint John encourages residents to experience the Sparkle of Uptown Saint John this Friday, December 3 beginning at 5 p.m.
On-street parking is free after 5 p.m., compliments of the Saint John Parking Commission.
Saint John City Market
5 – 9 p.m.
The Saint John City Market will be fully decorated with special lighting and holiday music. Regular Market vendors will be open along with over 25 pop-up vendors and food trucks. Proof of double vaccination and government issued ID will be required to enter the City Market. There will be a large fire pit, an ice sculpture, and a live DJ at the foot of the City Market outside.
Annual Mayor and Council Christmas tree lighting
Her Worship, Donna Reardon, and members of Saint John Common Council will officially light the City’s Christmas tree on Friday, December 3. This year, the tree will be displayed in a new location in front of City Hall.

King’s Square
ExploreNB is taking over King’s Square at Uptown Sparkles. Bringing you local musicians, s’mores and bannock over the campfire, hot chocolate, a live painter, face painting, warm-up lounge, games and prizes hosted by our very own Parks NB crew. Come by and #ExploreNB in Uptown Saint John.

“Rockwood Jolly Trolley’ – Festively lit and decorated tractor-pulled wagon ride, making rounds down sparkling uptown streets. 6 – 9 p.m. (face masks required)
Swingin’ Sparkles, holiday swing dancing demonstrations in Centerbeam Plaza. 6 – 8 p.m.
Two ice sculpting artists sharing creations at various locations – master crafters, Richard Chiasson and Joel Palmer of Swamp Bear Art.
Miss Sparkles will be all around the Uptown area spreading smiles and cheer!
Uptown businesses will have various special promotions.
