Kerrie Luck Running For Council In Quispamsis

I am excited to announce I will be running for Quispamsis Town Council. For many of you who know me, this will be no surprise, but for those who don’t, let me tell you a bit about myself and why I decided to run.
I have called Quispamsis home for over 22 years and there is nowhere I would rather live! My husband Sean and I have had the privilege to raise our 2 children, Sara and Daniel, in this welcoming community. I want to give back and serve the people that has made living here such a wonderful and inclusive experience. The daily greetings by strangers when I run on our beautiful trails serve to remind me of how blessed I am to live in such a warm and friendly place! Through both my personal and professional life, I have become acutely aware of how the environment in which we live, work, and play can have a significant impact on all aspects of our life. This is why I want to represent you! I want to hear what your needs are so we can continue to build our community together!
My varied experiences and skill set, including working in both the public and private sectors and many years of volunteering and committee work will support building OUR vision and action for moving our community forward. My 25+ years as a healthcare professional, researcher, educator, and advocate allows me to not only view issues through a unique lens, but also enables me to bring new ideas forward to address the challenges and opportunities that we are facing in our community.
My education and experience include:
• Registered Occupational Therapist (BSc, MSc) – guided by a professional theory that promotes a holistic approach of the individual and community.
• PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies – critical thinking, ability to weigh all options and evidence, and explore alternative solutions.
• Extensive management and board experience – solid track record of project management, business success, ability to lead and work within a team to meet organizational goals.
My most recent volunteer and board experience include: The New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists Council, Board of Governors Rothesay Netherwood School, The Arthritis Society Atlantic Board, New Brunswick Anti-tobacco Coalition (NBATC), Canadian Cancer Society, and Horizon Smoke-free Together Committee.
I believe through strong governance, economic development, and enhancing quality of life in our beautiful town, we can continue to make Quispamsis the best place to live, work, and play!
Change happens one person at a time…your vote is your voice! Advanced Polls: May 1st & 3rd, Election Day: May 10th
