Symphony New Brunswick presents the National Arts Centre Orchestra

Symphony New Brunswick presents the National Arts Centre (NAC) Orchestra on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Imperial Theatre.

Tickets are $45 or $25 for students.

Canada’s NAC Orchestra and violin virtuoso James Ehnes come together for an evening of music and storytelling for their Canada 150 Tour.

This special performance will celebrate Canadian classical music at its very best.

The evening culminates with John Estacio’s electrifying new work I Lost My Talk, inspired by Mi’kmaw Elder and poet Rita Joe, C.M. The lush musical score is performed with film and live narration, a truly “powerful, overwhelming creation” (Christophe Husse, Le Devoir).

“There are bursts of birdsong from the flute, and the rustle or wind in the percussion and strings … this piece ranks among his [Estacio’s] very best compositions for orchestra,” (Ottawa Citizen).

Programme:
ANTONIN DVORAK Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95, “From the New World”
ERICH KORNGOLD Concerto in D Major, Opus 35, for Violin and Orchestra
JOHN ESTACIO I Lost My Talk

This once-in-a-lifetime performance will be a celebration of music and storytelling as part of the NAC Orchestra Canada 150 Tour.
