Lily Lake In Rockwood Park Is Now Open For Public Skating

Lily Lake in Rockwood Park is now open for public skating. The ice is thick enough to support safe skating and regular ice maintenance.

The recent cold snap allowed City crews to plow accumulated snow and flood the ice surface, resulting in excellent skating conditions.

As part of Rockwood Glows taking place this Saturday, public skating on Lily Lake will be available from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. during the event. On other days, residents are welcome to skate throughout the day and evening at their convenience, provided conditions remain safe.

Residents are reminded to follow all posted warning signs on and around the ice. Certain areas may not always be safe for skating due to natural springs within the lake. Helmets are encouraged for all skaters, and everyone is asked to remain within the designated skating area.

The City will continue to monitor ice conditions and may need to close the lake to skating if conditions change. Any updates will be communicated through onsite signage and the City’s social media channels. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook for the latest information.
