Department of Transportation Advises Of Closure of Harbour Bridge

The City of Saint John has been notified that the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is advising the public of upcoming temporary full closures of the Saint John Harbour Bridge.

On Tuesday, September 2 and Wednesday, September 3, a brief closure between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., lasting roughly 20 minutes will require full closure of the bridge for jacking operations.

On Thursday, September 4 and Thursday, September 11 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., the westbound lanes of the Harbour Bridge will be closed with only one lane open. The contractor will have flaggers and a “follow me” truck to assist with traffic control.

As delays are expected, motorists are advised to plan travel in the area around this work. The department appreciates the public’s patience during this time.
