\u201cEvery individual has the potential to contribute to the economy in a variety of ways whether through the labour force, social enterprise or supporting local businesses,\u201d said Gallant. \u201cWe need to lift people out of poverty to help them reach their full potential and to improve the New Brunswick economy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Discussions focused on the annual indexation of the minimum wage, the promotion of inclusion in the workplace and the support of local businesses and social enterprises to facilitate economic and social inclusion.<\/p>\n

\u201cBreaking down barriers by supporting workplace environments and local businesses to better promote inclusion is essential to take advantage of the opportunities to grow the economy and create jobs for New Brunswickers,\u201d said Ed Doherty, minister responsible for the Economic and Social Inclusion Corporation.<\/p>\n

A series of Opportunities Summits are taking place around the province to identify new prospects for creating jobs and economic growth.
