In response to the growing needs of our homeless community members, the Saint John Out-of-the-Cold Shelter has announced the opening of a new daytime “Community Hub” space at 344 Somerset Street. Alongside the shelter\u2019s overnight shelter space, the Community Hub is designed to provide a warm, safe, and welcoming environment for those in need to spend their days, reinforcing our commitment to support and uplift every member of our community. The shelter and hub are operated by Outflow Ministry Inc.<\/p>\n

Understanding the challenges faced by those without a place to call home, especially during harsh weather conditions, the Community Hub offers more than just shelter. It is a place for connection, rest, and access to essential resources.<\/p>\n

Further to the Community Hub announcement, six additional spaces have been made available at the Coverdale Centre for Women at 148 Waterloo Street, helping to ensure that there is room for everyone who seeks refuge and companionship.<\/p>\n

The opening of the Community Hub and additional bed space at Coverdale marks the beginning of plans to further support the homeless population in Saint John. We are committed to addressing the immediate needs and working on sustainable solutions that respect the dignity and potential of every individual facing homelessness.<\/p>\n

The City thanks the community as people step up to support our vision, whether through their invaluable work, volunteering efforts, donations, or simply spreading the word. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of our neighbours who are in need.<\/p>\n
