Temporary overnight parking ban declared for the South\/Central Peninsula<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n A temporary overnight parking ban has been declared for the South\/Central Peninsula effective 11 p.m. this evening January 15 through to 7 a.m. tomorrow morning January 16. This means there is no on-street parking allowed anywhere in the South\/Central Peninsula area. Any vehicles remaining on-street after 11 p.m. when a parking ban has been declared WILL BE TICKETED AND\/OR TOWED at the owner’s risk and expense. Overnight parking bans are declared as per sections 5(6) and 5(7) of the City\u2019s Traffic By-law to allow for snow removal operations.<\/span><\/p>\n Five<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Saint John Parking lots will be cleared for use by on-street parking residents beginning at 6 p.m. tonight. Vehicles remaining in the lots after these times may be towed at the owner’s risk and expense.<\/p>\n The Peel Plaza Parking Garage offers a $5.00 overnight parking rate for nights when a parking ban is declared. This rate is valid only between 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. the following morning. Regular parking rates will be charged before and after these hours.<\/p>\n The purpose of a Parking Ban is to allow plow crews to push snow back from all streets in the South\/Central Peninsula to maintain access to all streets \u2013 especially narrow ones \u2013 by emergency and private vehicles throughout the winter.
