The General Operating Budget supports\u00a0<\/em>Council\u2019s priorities<\/em><\/a>\u00a0of Grow, Green, Belong, Move and Perform and reflects the needs and interests of our residents.<\/em><\/p>\n

At its meeting on December 13, 2021, Common Council approved the City\u2019s 2022 General Operating Budget. The approved 2022 General Operating Budget totals $164,721,858, a 4.7 per cent increase year over year.<\/p>\n

The budget was produced based on Council\u2019s strategic priorities as well as on the principles, policies and targets contained in the City\u2019s Long-term Financial Plan.<\/p>\n

The budget includes a recommendation to reduce the property tax rate by 7.5 cents, from $1.785 to $1.71 per $100 of assessed value. This is the lowest tax rate in 24 years and puts the City three years ahead of the Long-term Financial Plan tax rate target.<\/p>\n

The 2022 General Operating Budget continues to advance the City\u2019s long-term strategic financial objectives to increase flexibility, reduce vulnerability, and is sustainable.<\/p>\n
