<\/a><\/p>\n A tremendous educational opportunity for healthcare workers, parents, and caregivers is coming to Fredericton this September!<\/p>\n The New Brunswick Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NBASLPA) will be holding their conference and AGM at the Crowne Plaza Fredericton \u2013 Lord Beaverbrook Hotel on September 27-28th, 2019.<\/p>\n This educational opportunity includes sessions in both English and French that feature topics of interest for the parents\/caregivers and for a variety of healthcare professionals including speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, child psychologists, counsellors, mental health workers, and early childhood intervention specialists.<\/p>\n Guest speakers include:<\/p>\n -Stephen Bourassa, an occupational therapist who specializes in the assessment and treatment of childhood trauma. His presentations are entitled \u201cLooking Through a Different Lens: Trauma Informed Care for Allied Health Professionals\u201d and \u201cSuperParentz: The A.C.E. Parent Workshop \u2013 When Love Isn\u2019t Enough\u201d<\/p>\n -Dr. David McFarland, an associate professor at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al whose research focuses on neurophysiological bases of speech and swallowing function. His presentation is entitled \u00abBases neurophysiologiques de la parole et de la fonction de d\u00e9glutition\u00bb (presentation in French)<\/p>\n -Janine Verge, an audiologist who specializes in vestibular assessment and management.
