2019 SEED (Student Employment Experience Development) Applications Now Available

Summer job applications for the Student Employment Experience Development (SEED) program are now available.

Students may access the applications and other information on the program online. The deadline for submissions is Sunday, March 31st, 2019. “Our government recognizes the importance of providing opportunities for young New Brunswickers to learn and to gain hands-on experience in the job market,” said Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour Minister Trevor Holder. “These types of programs will help our youth become productive and successful members of our society.” For many years, the SEED program has provided experiential learning opportunities for students during the summer months. These placements are intended to help young New Brunswickers gain and develop skills and competencies that will benefit them in their future careers. Read more »

The Annual  – 2018 Spiritus Award Dinner and Auction for the Divine Mercy Catholic School will be held on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Saint John, located at 39 King Street. This delightful evening will feature a silent and live auction, a performance by the Nationally recognized, award winning, heart melting DMCS Choir, cocktails and dinner and presentation of the Spiritus Award. This year, we will be posthumously honouring Ms. Gertrude Mooney. Gertrude was a dear friend and supporter of DMCS and we are proud to be presenting the Spiritus Award to her family in her honour! Stitches In Time: A Quilt Show

Stitches in Time, a fall quilt show by the Elm City Quilters’ Guild, is at Gibson Memorial Church, 183 Gibson Street, Fredericton, New Brunswick. The show is taking place Friday, October 19 from 10 am – 8 pm and Saturday, October 20 from 10 am – 4 pm. Projects on display include quilts, bags, wall hangings, small pieces of furniture with quilted tops, ironing board covers, etc. There will be a well-stocked tea room. Bag Limit Increased for Striped Bass

Minister LeBlanc announces increased bag limit for 2018 Striped bass recreational fishery in the Gulf Region. The Honourable Dominic LeBlanc, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, announced today management measures for the Striped bass recreational fishery in 2018 throughout the Southern Gulf of St. Lawrence. This area includes the Maritime Provinces adjacent to the Gulf of St. Lawrence.
