Temporary Changes to Saint John Transit Routes, March 12-14
Beginning Wednesday, March 12 to Friday, March 14, 2025, due to construction activity at 99 King Street, Saint John Transit will not be able to service stops at Kings Square North, King Street, or at the bottom of King Street (City Hall).
For the duration of the construction, there will be no transit service on King Street.
Routes will return to normal operations on Saturday, March 15.
Buses (1E, 3E, 9E, 20, 33, 35, 52, 1W, 3N, 9N, 15W, 21, 23) will stop and transfer passengers at King Street East between Sydney and Carmarthen streets.
Buses (1W, 3N, 9N, 15W, 23 1E, 3E, 9E, 15s, 23) will stop and transfer passengers on Water Street between Market Square and Princess Street.

The detours and temporary stops are the same routes riders used late last year to accommodate the Charlotte Street reconstruction project.
Detours
- Buses leaving uptown heading north (3N, 9N, 23) and west (1W, 15W) will leave King Street East, turn right on Carmarthen Street, right on to Broad Street along Water Street to St Patrick Street to their regular route
- South bound (21) will leave King Street East, turn right on Carmarthen Street, right on Duke Street to their regular route
- East bound buses (1E, 3E, 9E, 33, 35 & 52) leaving King Street East will turn right on to Sydney Street to their regular route
- North bound bus (20) leaving King Street East will turn right on to Sydney Street to the regular route
Motorists in the area are advised to drive with caution and be aware of increased pedestrian traffic and flaggers in the detour areas.
