Welcome New Business: Tommy’s Superette

The story behind the name of Uptown’s newest shop has a great local connection. Tommy’s Superette, a butcher shop, was opened in 1969 by Tracy’s father in the city’s North end. When Tracy and her daughter Zoey were trying to decide what to name their shop, her father suggested naming it Tommy’s Superette. They felt the name fit perfectly as they offer a little bit of everything in the shop.

The mother and daughter team both love the outdoors, hiking, camping, and that passion is shown inside their store. All the brands featured in the shop are ones they personally love and want to share with their customers. They offer a selection of gear for hiking, camping, mountain climbing & biking. For December they will be getting in kids sizes for climbing harnesses and shoes. On their back wall, there is even a mini climbing wall for customers to test out the climbing shoes on.

Their goal is to source as many products as possible from Canadian or the USA including; Goober Dog Collars from Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia, Routine Natural Deodorant from Alberta, Allette And Co scrunchies from Saint John, Field Notes Notebooks from the USA, Hunny B Lip Balm from Vancouver, with new products will be arriving throughout the year.

Head over to Princess Street and visit their shop on the corner of Princess and Sydney Street.
