Jake Stackhouse Running For Council In Ward 2

The city faces its challenges, but we have a lot to look forward to. There is unprecedented development in our city, our population is growing, and our housing market is booming, however we can’t afford to lose this momentum going forward.

It’s more important than ever that our city council remains laser-focused on growing our tax base by attracting families and encouraging younger generations to stay in Saint John. We need to couple this with facilitating development so we have the ability to lighten the tax burden on our current population.

This is our opportunity here in Ward 2. We can’t afford to continue losing our population to Rothesay and Quispamsis.

To attract young families, we need to revitalize the old North End, and invest/protect recreation in the Millidgeville area. In combination with meaningful tax reform, this is our best path forward.

I picture a day that Saint John grows into the city it was meant to be. Thriving, bustling, and sustainable. With the right direction, this is possible. Let’s not focus on past mistakes, let’s set our priorities and look towards creating a bright future for our city!
