Experience the old world charm of the uptown core. Enjoy the Mayor’s Tree Lighting, the historic City Market lit up in spectacular splendour, Victorian Carollers, Horse Trolley Rides, a holiday Craft Market, and much, much more.
Bring the family out and visit the Uptown shops, boutiques and restaurants for holiday specials and treats.
‘It’s Christmastime in the City’…and tonight is the most special evening to enjoy the season Uptown!
2018 Uptown Sparkles
5-9pm: Horse Drawn Trolley Rides around King’s Square (Trolley Stop on King’s Square North)
5-9pm: CentreBeam Holiday Craft Market
5:30-8:30pm: East Coast Carollers sharing Holiday Harmonies on the streets of uptown
6pm: Mayor’s Tree Lighting, Loyalist Plaza
6-7pm: Harbour View Choral Ensemble in King’s Square
6-8pm: SJHS String Ensemble Performing in the Shops of City Hall
6-8pm: Holiday Sax Music, Various Streets Uptown
7-9pm: The City Market at Night
The Saint John Parking Commission will not issue tickets between 5pm on Friday until 12:01am on Sunday at meters.
Individual businesses throughout the Uptown will be offering a variety of activities and experiences:
Market Square Sparkles
Join Market Square for holiday cheer, entertainment, treats and gift certificate giveaways starting at 5pm. Bring a date, get some friends together, or treat your family to this charming uptown tradition. All activities are FREE.
Market Square’s unique boutiques and restaurants welcome shoppers with festive specials for all.
FREE underground parking at Market Square compliments of the Saint John Parking Commission from 4:30pm until 6pm.
Taste of Egypt
Enjoy an Art Show by Ada Onuora and Gayle Capson, beginning at 5pm until 9pm.
Live Music by Adrian Thornton from 6pm to 9pm.
