Father Joseph Arnold “Arnie” Hachey is celebrating his 25th Anniversary of Ordination Celebration!

Father Arnie was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick, on August 25th, 1953, the son of the lates Hampford and Mary Cecilia ”Celia” (Comeau) Hachey. His early schooling was in Bathurst, and upon completing High School, attended Saint Paul’s University in Ottawa, and then transferred to the American College Catholic University in Louvain, Belgium.

He was ordained by Bishop Joseph Edward Troy (now Bishop Emeritus Joseph Edward Troy, of the Diocese of Saint John, Saint John, New Brunswick, at Saint Michael’s the Archangel Basilica Roman Catholic Church in Chatham on June 22nd, 1993.

Father Arnie has served as both pastor and associate pastor at various locations –  first serving as associate pastor of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Newcastle, with the mission of Saint Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church, on the Natoaganeg (Eel Ground) 1st Nation, from 1993 to 1994, then in 1995, as associate pastor of Saint Michael’s the Archangel Basilica Roman Catholic Church in Chatham, from 1996 to 1998, as pastoral associate at Saint Dunstan’s Roman Catholic Church in Fredericton, from 1998 to 2000, as administrator of Saint Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Saint Andrew’s by the Sea, with its missions of Saint Clement’s Roman Catholic Church in McAdam, and the Guardian Angel Roman Catholic Church in Vanceboro, Maine, United States of America, from 2000 to 2001, pastor of Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Newcastle, with the mission of Saint Joachim’s Roman Catholic Church, on the Natoaganeg (Eel Ground) 1st Nation, Saint Samuel’s Roman Catholic Church in Douglastown, All Saint’s Roman Catholic Church in Millbank, from 2001 to 2003, had a sabbatical, from 2003 to 2015, as pastor of Saint Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church in Sussex, with its missions of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Norton, and Saint Phillip’s Roman Catholic Church in  Head of Millstream, and from 2015 to present as pastor of Saint Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, in Nelson Miramichi, with its missions of Saint Edward’s Roman Catholic Church, in Chelmsford, and The Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, in Barnaby River.
