The mayor of Rothesay says this past year they’ve taken steps to diversify the housing offerings in the community which is something she believes is much needed.
Nancy Grant says seniors are asking for the kind of housing where they can downsize.
“We have an apartment complex in development at 104 Hampton Road,” say Grant. “Then of course the condominium complex on the corner of Hillcrest and Hampton Road which is going to be 58 condominiums and 10 garden home units.”
Grant says they also recently approved at town council a 36-unit apartment building for Millennium Drive.
She also highlights opening of two new recreation facilities, the dog park and the ball park at the Wells Recreation Park, the addition of EpiPens to public places in the town, completely rebuilding two streets this year, Second Street and Oakville Lane, and the water-main project on the Hampton Road.
