Saint John Housing Market Stronger This Year

Posted on Monday, December 11, 2017

As of the end of November, housing sales in the Saint John region for the year were up by 8 per cent.

Realtor Dave Cochrane says the west side has become really popular with sales in Fundy Heights up by 31 per cent. Cochrane believes housing sales are way up because of the new school.

Kennebecasis Valley was also up and Cochrane points out it represents almost one-quarter of the entire sales market in southern New Brunswick. Housing sales also increased in Grand Bay-Westfield and by 9 per cent on the east side.

Sales were down in Charlotte County which Cochrane finds unusual.

He also reports the average price of a home increased by 2 and a half per cent to more than $185 thousand.
