This Saturday November 5th from 9 am to 5 pm Cat Rescue Maritimes (CARMA) Saint John Chapter will be holding their Fill The Bus/ No Home For The Holidays fundraising event at the Rothesay Avenue Superstore. Just look for the City Transit Bus!
This event is really important for your local CARMA chapter, as it is their last big push to have enough food for the colonies and fosters to last the winter. No donation is too little. CARMA is always in need of clumping litter (unscented), wood stove pellets (prefer Crabbe Mountain), and both moist and dry food. They can also use any other items you might wish the foster babies to have such as toys, beds, etc.
Please tell your friends and help spread the word about this very special event coming up this weekend. Let’s Fill the Bus!
Homeless cat populations in the Maritimes have reached crisis proportions. Feral cats are an integral part of a global humane issue, but helping ferals requires a different approach. CARMA is an all-volunteer, registered charity operating in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia since 2005. Their purpose is to humanely reduce numbers and suffering in feral cat populations and to assist individuals and communities struggling with cat colonies. CARMA is a program, not a place. CARMA is not a shelter and is not involved in animal control. CARMA is powered by volunteers only–there are no paid employees, nor do the directors of the organization receive remuneration whatsoever. All funds are used for the care of the animals and operation of the organization. For more information visit the website at www.ca-r-ma.org.
