Fire hydrant flushing underway across the City
The City of Saint John is underway with the annual fire hydrant flushing program (also referred to as uni-directional flushing) to clean the water distribution pipes across the City.
Over the next several months, flushing will be performed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Customers may experience turbidity (dirty or cloudy) water for up to 20 minutes if they use water during the time that the line on their street is being flushed. Though customers may encounter a drop in water pressure, at no time should they be without water. The water is safe to consume.
